What happens in a Wardrobe Wake-up?

First of all, I write to you to confirm the appointment and ask you how you spend your time, for example, work, leisure activities, hobbies, travel, domestic, gardening, family, holidays. The idea being that you spend your money on clothes for activities you spend most of your time doing.

Then I visit you in your home and we go through your clothes and accessories, looking at colour and style, filtering out anything that doesn’t fit you, what can go to the charity shop. I also give my recommendations on appropriate necklines, fabrics, and patterns which would best enhance your shape, style and scale.

I then organise your wardrobe in a way that works for you. There are various ways to do this, for example, by colour, purpose, season, or style or any combination of these. So, you could have a wardrobe divided into seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and then within those seasons, subdivided accordingly. I then follow up with a letter summarising your colour and style and make some recommendations as to the gaps in your wardrobe and useful websites to look at.

As part of the service, I can also take other items to the charity shop, saving you even more time and effort. In this respect, and more, Wardrobe Wake-up is a very unique service.

My tips to dress your best...

❤ Wear colours and styles that suit you.

❤ Get organised! The best advice I can give is to decide the night before what you want to wear the next day. Saves huge amounts of stress in the morning!

❤ Note the right neckline and fabric to suit your face and body shape.

❤ Be aware that our eyes are always drawn to horizontal lines, for instance a low hemline will make you seem shorter, and if your hem falls on your widest part, that will draw attention to it.

❤ Notice that light colours come forward and dark ones recede.

❤ Spend your money on clothes where you spend most of your time.

❤ When buying separates, ideally, they should go with three other items already in your wardrobe, be suitable for three different seasons and three different occasions depending on how you layer them and what accessories you put with them.

❤ Wear your best clothes more often!

Testimonials ★★★★★

“This afternoon I had a very scary but inspiring experience from my friend Carole Greenland who made a ‘start’ on decluttering my wardrobe! I have never taken the plunge to ‘get rid’ ever, so it was a major task for me and for Carole who handled my request very delicately but firm. The experience was like an introduction to my clothes for the first time. Carole also gave her expert opinion on certain clothes matching other items of clothing that you wouldn’t have necessarily have seen for yourself. If you feel like me, unable to let go, give Carole a call at Wardrobe Wakeup. Xx”
